rindu adalah asam
yang menggerogoti hati
terlebih kala ia takkan mungkin terobati

a response to Dipogila's "Rindu dan Petir".
I'm posting it here instead of at Wacanaisme because I want to keep Wacanaisme clear of personal, unimportant and frivolous discourses of no discernible import or value towards society in general. Like, for example, amateur poetry.
(which is what this blog is for)
Slide [21] Many people expend a lot of energy protesting against their irresponsible, unresponsive government. It seems like a terrible waste of time, considering how ineffectual their protests are. Is it enough of a consolation for them to be able to read about their efforts in the foreign press? I think that they would feel better if they tuned out the politicians, the way the politicians tune them out. It's as easy as turning off the television set. If they try it, they will probably observe that nothing about their lives has changed, nothing at all, except maybe their mood has improved. They might also find that they have more time and energy to devote to more important things.

I hate it when my brother looks at me like just now, shooting sideways glances making me feel as if every second I spend in front of this PC is wasted money/effort/shit. Or is it just in my mind? Perhaps...
But I do need to do something about getting somewhere in my life. I will. I am. I think...
[I will do something about getting a job. I am doing something about getting. At least I think I am about to get a job...]

Malcom Gladwell in his book, "Blink," says that in a conflict/argument situation a male is most likely to emotionally 'stonewall' while a female is more likely to criticize.

I pray that I become less of Seth Finkelstein's bad parts and more of his good parts.
According to Showbiz News at Metro TV earlier today, several Indonesian cinema workers havereturned their Piala Citras in protest. More at my Indonesian blog Wacanaisme.
An interesting take on yesterday's Asia-Pacific-wide Internet outage, induced by the earthquake in Taiwan, from the Brunei times
WHEN major earthquakes hit areas off Taiwan, severely damaging undersea cables and disrupting telecommunications, among the casualties reported were the two people killed in Taiwan, the operations of banks, churches and businesses from Japan to China, as well as Internet services across the region.... According to AFP, the disruption was widespread, hitting China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong and elsewhere, with knock-on effects as far away as Australia for companies whose Internet is routed through affected areas.
And yes, there is another casualty: Time magazine's "Person of the Year". That means you, of course.

Lessons from work, week three:
I'm currently doing a Graphic Design internship at Virus Communications. I'll tell you more about it as soon as I gain the opportunity. Meanwhile, every statement made at this site is still my own personal opinion and not necessarily a reflection of Virus Communications' positions.

Oh and as for those that think this violates marthinlutherkingdotorg's free speech rights, I posit the theory that it can't possibly reach first page at Google without Googlebombing itself. Either that, or it really is true that The Stormfront White Nationalist Community really is more representative of mainstream White thinking in America. Which I sincerely doubt.
But I guess this does open the possibility of an SEO arms race over the Google term. So... what to do?
(Perhaps I'll write a more coherent description of what's happening someday. But until then...)
So like, there's this thing called The Colbert Report, and there's this other thing called Youtube. And somewhere in there there's also this bunch of corporations, remix artists, lots and lots of money, etc., etc.
Here it is. I'm not in it.
I'd do a "hehe," but I don't think it'd help much.
Anyway I've got a user manual to finish.
(Contacts. I should pursue contacts. I gotta focus. And then there's this...)
(Man, I gotta get over myself.)

I don't write intellectually. I write expressively. I don't claim to be accurate, fair or thorough. I don't wanna get stuck on certain topics. Though I sometimes do. But not that often. I'd like to expand. I wanna write more poems. But I'll only upload them if they're good. I only rant about my life's hardships if it will rescue just a little bit of my sanity. I'm saner than I make myself out to be, though.
If I am an OS kernel, and I just had a kernel dump, I'd imagine that the text in this blog is what it would more or less look like.
There. Do you get it?
